so my RSVP date is May 8th and so far i have 81 yes's... i have to meet a minimum of 125 and so far it looks like from those that did not respond we can def count about 20 yes'... which would put us short of our min around 25! did anyone have any experience w/ this, do you know if your hall will let you negotiate for extras etc?? Also im just worried my room will look too empty.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
i know other girls on here have been able to negotiate and get extras ... if your RH doesn't do that, you can always invite LIW girls to fill up the spaces.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
My sister was short about 30. She was able to get her hall to reduce her minimum a bit and then she used 'guest meals' to feed her vendors, which offset the cost a little too. She ended up losing a row of tables on the far side of the room and no one noticed that there was a part of the room that was emptier.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
I'm also in this position. I'm pretty sure we will be at least 10 short of our minimum. I'm thinking of asking if we can add extras or count some of our vendors.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
I'm in the same boat. My rsvp date in 5/1 and not even half of my response cards are back. So far, I only have 55 guests coming. I need 125. I'm guessing I'm only going to have about 100 people come. I'm hoping they do something for me. Otherwise I'm basically just handing them $3,000 for nothing.

That's one of the great things about this site -- girls will fill your extra seats so you don't have to pay for nothing!

I've heard you get a lot of RSVPs around the deadline, so you might still get it!

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
I know you can take the food to go, but not sure if your gonna want so many meals. Mabye they can add dessert plates on the tables or extra time to the party. Just ask RH, you never know till you ask.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
As far as the room looking empty, I wouldn't worry about that. We had our reception in a room that could hold up to about 120-130 and we had 80 and it was fine. we were able to have betw 8 and 10 people at a table so they weren't so packed and that gave us an extra table. Check if your rh will let you do fewer people at each table.
and as someone else mentioned, don't forget you have vendors to feed, they can take up a couple headcounts.

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
true thanks ladies! i emailed a coordinator at the hall and she said if it comes down to it, they will make the room look as best as possible, and hopefully they will try to throw things in!! let me know how all of you currently under your min work out w/ your RH!

Re: worried about not meeting minimum
I wouldn't be worried. FH is a really great place. They will arrange the room so it looks full.. 25 people is only really 2-tables.
Also, generally you can negotiate extra..so if the 25 people would have been $2500, you may be able to add a viennese hour and/or CH upgrades. I think the sooner you talk to FH about it, the better off you'll be. Good luck!
