Would it be wrong....

To ask my father to give me money towards having two people play music during cocktail hour, dinner and maybe in between one of the band sets.

My FFIL is giving us 5g towards the wedding and paying for the band. When my FH and I got engaged my father said that he would match what my FFIL would give us (within reason). So my father put down 4g on the deposit but is hesitant to do more.

I feel like I am his ONLY daughter and his first born. It isn't like he doesn't have the money either. We are getting a REALLY great deal on the band and they two guys playing are people that I have known for YEARS and are giving us a great deal as well..

I just don't know if it's wrong and I should just take what I get or what

My opinion? Don't ask. He is already giving you money towards your wedding. Just because you feel he has it doesn't mean he has to give it to you. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's just my 2cents.

Don't worry it isn't harsh at all. This is something that I have been going back and forth with for weeks. I know my father and if I ask it is damned if I do and damned if I don't.
