Would it be wrong to just nix the limos all together?
We are having the ceremony and the reception at the Bourne Mansion, and we both plan on getting ready there. Do we really need limos to take us back to the hotel? Or is it ok to arrange some alternative mode of transport? I just think it would be a great way to cut a little from the budget, but maybe I'm being cheap.....

I think you can nix the limo. I went to a friend's wedding a few years ago and her In laws drove her and her hubby to the hotel. It's really no big deal.
Just wanted to add that our limo company gives us the limo ride back to the hotel for free. We would not have paid extra for it.

I don't know, when I think about my wedding and the list of important things, limos don't even begin to work their way onto the list. I just thought it might be cheap looking to not have them, but who cares?

Who cares if you look cheap? Besides, none of your guests will know since you both are getting ready there. You can always get a Lincoln Towncar from maybe a local cab company. That would probably be a lot cheaper.

if both things are at the same place then i dont think the limos are a big deal. im still debating it as well and i think i might take 'em out.

we are not using a limo. I will get a ride with MOH and FH will take our car to the hall. (wedding and reception at the same place and I'm getting ready there)

Me and my hubby drove off in our rental car after the reception to get to the hotel.

I have no intention of using limos...our ceremony and reception are at the same place, so IMO it would be a waste of money! One person in our BP made a stupid comment that it was 'sad' (w*t*f??) that we weren't having limos but I really don't care what anyone thinks! Who will see you get out of it? NO ONE!! It's not like getting married at a church where people watch you get out of the limo and you need transportation. Personally, I'm putting that money to better use!

We are not using limo's...everyone is getting themselves there in the morning where we are getting ready, on the way home we are hoping on the shuttle bus that everyone else will be on to get back to the hotel.

Ok. I'm glad to see it's not just me who thinks it is a waste.

i definitely don't think you need limos! if you need to trim you $$, that's a great place to do it.
Good Luck!!

I don't think you need them either. I've had a few friends who had the ceremony and reception at the same place and did not have limo's. They had no problems. I am sure you will find something you will need more to spend those $$ on.
