My shower is a 'surprise' although I'm about 99% sure that I know the date, time, and location. There's going to be about 80 people, and I really want to get through the gift opening as quickly as possible... I want to have my girls partially unwrap the gifts, tell me who it's from, and then I'll hold it up and such. Two questions:
A) Is that an OK way to go about this?
B) Would it be weird to tell the girls about the 'game plan' in the monthly newsletter that I send them?

What about as an alternative, requesting that the gifts are wrapped in cellophane?
I've seen that before. I'm not a huge fan of it, BUT I like it more than sitting there as a guest watching the bride open eleventy million things slowly.

This is actually what usually happens at a shower. One girl partially unwraps it, another tells you who it's from, another takes the garbage, and another keeps track for you.

My MOH helped me she took off all the ribbons and partially unwrapped the majority of my gifts, there were approximately 40 people at my shower and I opened all the gifts in about a half an hour. I would definitely go with this plan esp if you have 80 people attending - to be honest as a guest I wouldn't want to sit through 4 hours of gift opening lol
