Would this concern you?

Would this concern you?

I had a vendor that I booked call me the other day to ask if I had made my decision yet on ............
I told them I had booked them a few months ago!!!!!!

Would this worry you? When I told them I had booked them they responded 'uh you did? ummmmmm ok then have a nice day.' So before they hung up I made them look for my contract which they claim they do have. But they sounded really surprised when I told them and very confused when they said they found it - then spent a few seconds trying to sell me on their services.

Would you be concerned?

Christine!!!

It's Rachel, Shirley's friend.

I would be a bit concerned, but I would call the owner specifically and discuss the situation. It's so easy to put a name and address in the wrong database - there are a NUMBER of perfectly good reasons for this to have happened.

Benefit of the doubt first, and you can freak out later. ;-)

I'll FM you my contact info.

HEY!!!! how are you doing? Isn't this board helpful?

Yeah well I did talk to the owner - that was the concern.

I agree. I would call and speak to the manager or owner just to explain what happened and confirm everything.

Good luck!

Re: Would this concern you?

Do you mean to tell me that the OWNER called you and asked you if you'd made up your mind?

Ugh. Ummmmmmmmm...

Not so sure now. I think it depends on specifically WHICH vendor this is.

I need your AIM screen name so we can IM.

I had the same thing happen to me. I think in my case, since they are a house vendor at my hall, they had a list of people from the hall that they were calling- maybe just not checking to see if any had already booked them. I would call and make sure, just to put your mind at ease.

the same thing happened to us - for our wedding bands - apparently they get lists and sometimes double cross each other - by accident, the girl i spoke with apologized profusely and it wass fgine but if it bothers you, definitley talk to the owner - its good to let them know so they don't lose any clients!

I would ask them to fax or mail me a copy of the contract you filled out to make sure they really have it! and just express my concern to the owner.

I would go in person and make them show me the contract. That sounds a little scary!

I would call to talk to one of the office staff - I have found that the owner/creativer person is not always the most savvy when it comes to paperwork. (The designers in my office are spastic when it comes to detailed things like filling out a form).

I am sure it is fine though!

Hey there...I would simply go to the studio (if it's not an inconvenience to you and have them go through the contract.

I would honestly be concerned if it were the person you signed with who called you. Alot of these places have call/follow up lists and perhaps you were stull on one of them or they had an old one.
But, for peace of mind...I'd go in person and present your contract.

I would be concerned...can you call the person you booked with just to make sure everything is squared away?

call just to double check...

but we had a real estate agent call us asking if we had found a place after he did all the paperwork on our place and said that he felt like we could be good friends and should go out some time...

they are just going through old files probably

Re: Would this concern you?

Well I can't go there as I have just moved to Michigan - so that is a bit of a problem - they did have my contract when it was mailed b/c they called to tell me that they received it - so - I guess I will just have to wait and call again in a few days
