Would this look weird....

Would this look weird....

To save money I was thinking of cutting out the floral centerpieces and maybe doing hurricane vases with candles in them or some other non-floral arrangements.

However one of my bm said that for an afternoon wedding in the summer the candles only as centerpeices might look a little weird.

Any advice? I really am not sure what to do.

What if you did something like this? I could see this for a day wedding:

I think it would look very nice. When I was visiting my RH they were setting up for a wedding where the bride had pillar candles in hurricane vases with different pastel colored rocks...it was simple but really beautiful

I don't think it would look weird at all. I think you can do whatever CP you like

I'm going for the same look, and mine is a daytime wedding...day after your's actually - weekend twin! I am thinking of breaking it up with small potted plants - like wheatgrass or something, since we're going for an eco-chic look. Well, I'm going for eco-chic. I don't think FH knows what 'chic' means.

Anyway, I think it'll look great!

I was at Home Depot the other day and they have those potted orchids for around $15-20 each. I have to do research on them to find out how long they bloom-but I was thinking that I could put them in some pretty silver vases (need to go to thrift stores) surround it with tall candles/vases and then the guests can take them home as well.

That sounds like a really nice idea! ETA: But you'd have to get them pretty much the day or two before since they don't bloom for very long. We have them at work and they change them every week.

I was in the same boat ... candles are gorgeous but they kind of lose their elegance and dramatic appeal in the daytime.

I went with flowers in the end (after TONS of searching)

Depending on how formal your wedding is, you could try to do otrich feather centerpieces. They look pretty nice, IMHO ... just not very fancy :)

Good luck!

I love the candles idea - def add some flowers whether it be via petals or potten orchids.
