Why not? its your day, do what you WANT! If you really like it, do it! Don't listen to what others say, its really your choice. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Here is what I told my FH, he didn't choose his christening, if he wanted to be christened, or what he wore or where it would be.
He didn't choose to be communed, or again where it would be or what they served afterwards!
He didn't choose to be confirmed, or again what to wear, where it would be, or how it would be!
Why because he was a child, now he is an adult. when your an adult part of the perks is doing what you want, yes you have to deal with the responsibities like your family or inlaws being upset and so on. BUt that is your choice! You have to be the one to make that choice.
