Would you????

Would you????

Wear a dress that someone gives you.
My FMIL friend has a daughter who was getting married and called off the wedding. The girl is now happily married, but wore a different dress to her wedding.
Its a $3000 designer dress(way more then I would spend). The mother is willing to give it to me for nothing. I of course have to try it on and see if I like it.
It still has the tags on it, and has never been altered.

Definately check it out-I don't think the dress has a karma (I'd say it did if she had worn the dress and then gotten a divorce or something). It can't hurt to at least look at it-let us know how you make out!!!

I think you should try it on. You may not like it, and than there is nothing else to even think about.

Than, if you really love it, than you can see what kind of dresses you can afford. You may like those better. If not, than I would wear it. But, I don't believe in superstitions or anything.

Re: Would you????

no dress has Karma.

My mother loaned her gown to her cousin. My mother got divorced.

A few years later, her cousin was going to return the gown to my mother, but my mother told her to keep it since my mom was divorced.

The woman remained married to that man for the rest of her life.

So, if you like the gown, go for it. But, if you don't really like it, don't just take it cause it's a designer gown...keep looking!

I would say definitely check it out. My grandmother wore a$3k dress (she was married in the 50's, thats alot of money!!) that was made for another woman and she looked better in it than the woman who it was made for!!!

Re: Would you????

I would at least give it a shot. My sister-in-law had been engaged to someone else before my brother and had already purchased her dress. She used the same dress to marry my brother and they have a very good marriage. A bride chooses her wedding dress for herself when she knows its right. You could spend hours online or days leafing through pages in bridal books but until you try on that dress of your dreams, you will never know. This dress being offered to you may very well be the dress of your dreams. By not paying for this dress, you will have that much more to spend on other areas of your wedding where you thought you may fall short. Enjoy this opportunity! And hey, if the dress is a size 10, can I have it????? Best of luck!

I agree - try it and see if you love it - hopefully you will and you'll have a free dress! That's a very nice offer from your MIL, BTW.
