use a DJ company you found through craigslist on the internet? They are not a vendor here. but through our corespondence through emails, I really like her, and the price is better....I just don't know anyone who has used her before...She did give me references though and has been in the bus for 20 years....Thank ya!!

I would definitely consider it. There are a lot of GREAT vendors out there on Long Island that aren't vendors on LI Weddings.
You have to meet with them, and use your gut.

I'm not sure to be honest with you.
a DJ is one of the most important vendors since they 'run the show'. I was really picky when choosing a DJ for my wedding. I wanted to make sure that they have a ton of experience, they're not cheesy and that the MC would be polished.
IMO, if this DJ can only afford to advertise on craigslist.... it would make me very nervous!!
