If I could I would pay it all off now, i think just so I wouldn't have to worry about payments or anything like that...It would be very stress free.

Honestly, you wont get THAT much money for a 6 month cd, i hear people say they make 300-400 interest for a year and on top of that it is taxed...So thats why i would prefer to just pay it all off.

Put it in a Cd and let it collect interest. Why should the vendor get the interest if the payment isn't due?????

I say pay it off. If I could pay off everything right now I would cause I don't like worrying about money at the last minute.

I know it sounds tempting but if it's a high interest earning CD put it in the bank. If you have that kind of money, it's going to earn SOME interest. Why not make something off of that money regarless of how little it may be.

Yeah it is all personal preference, to each their own...I personally am the type to say i'll pay more for something if it will give me less aggrevation and save myself the headache. So thats why i would prefer to get it all out of the way, not worry about the payments, and this way what we do have after that we are free to spend it and not worry about and we would be able to know all the extras we can include that we will wait until later to decide. So the way i see it is if i am willing to spend more on things to be stress free i am willing to lose the same few hundred dollars to be stress free.
But to the original poster, if this is something you have to decide now, then do whatever makes you comfortable and happy. What is right for one person is not for the next person.

Honestly, I would not prepay any vendors this far in advance. So many things can happen between now and your wedding day. No matter how much we think we've made the right choice, sometimes vendors can disappoint us and if you've paid them their balance and they do something you need them to change/fix, you have less to hold over their head to try to get them to rectify the problem.

I would put it in the bank, either in a CD or a high interest savings, depending on what the rates are. We found the high interest savings worked for us because the rates were slightly higher than three month CDs we were looking at and we had the freedom to withdraw money at any time if we needed to do so.
We earned a good deal of money in 2006 in interest so it was definitely worth it!

I agree with Darlene. It might not be much interest but something is better than nothing!!!
