They are not married but live together. We know both of them.The guy is my FH's childhood friend so the other option is

ettiquette suggests that both of their names are added to the envelope, especially if you are not doing an inner envelope.

If I knew their sig. other's name, and they had been dating for quite some time, I put it. I haded getting invites where FH had been dating for two years and it was
FH and Guest... uhhhh like he was going to bring anyone else!

We didn't have inner envelopes either and we made sure to find out everyone's guests names so that we could put them on the front. Especially since if they broke up before the wedding we didn't want them to just bring any guest. We have a limited guest list as it is. lol
