So I think we are moving the wedding up 8 months!!! My grandparents are really sick and FH grandfather isn't doing well either. We really want them all to share the day with us so we decided to move it up (hopefully RH will work with us). Anyway, the reason we wanted to wait a year and a half for the wedding in the first place is because I just graduated with my masters and am currently looking for a job. Just as ALL of my BM's. We wanted to save up $$ and give the BM's time so they're not scraping for $$. I haven't told them yet bc it's not official until we get the word from RH. They would never say anything to me but would you be annoyed as a BM??
PS one of the BM turned down being BM for another friend bc she has no $$...

Given the situation with your grandparents I would think that if they are your friends they would understand and do the best they can to still be in the wedding party.

I honestly would be a little annoyed. Just because money may be tight, and 6 months is a big jump up.

But that's me - did you discuss them saving money???
Go cheap on the dress for them, they'll go cheap on the shower, there are plenty of ways to not turn it into a $1000 job for your BMs - just use us for suggestions!

I think if you explain what is going on and why you are moving it up they should understand. I know monsy is tight for jsut about everyone but if my friend came to me with that reasoning i wouldnt be mad or back out.
I wish i could have had my grandmother at my wedding.

Kind of...I'm asking in the perspective of a broke BM though. I just don't want to put them in a situation that I was trying to avoid. I understand not having hundreds of $ to spend and unfortunately they would have to start NOW bc they have to order dresses.

I wouldn't be annoyed, just explain the situation to them. And like Jen said in the previous post, pick out a cheap dress for them

I def would not be annoyed but I would also excpect you to not be annoyed if they had to go much cheaper on the bridal shower and the bacholerette party

Yea it is a big jump and it's EIGHT months!...I feel as if I'm throwing this at them out of nowhere. I just feel bad. Thank you for being honest. Maybe we can find dresses (not necessarily BM dresses) and I'll buy them as their gift. It is a day wedding (not as formal). I don't know
