As you may already know, I'm in the bridal party for FSIL's wedding. FH's brother's gf (they've been together as long as we have) is also in the bridal party. The weird thing is that FH and his brother were not asked to be groomsmen because FSIL's FH has so many brothers so that there wasn't any 'space.' I thought this was ridiculous, but whatever. Even FH, who really isn't the type to care about this sort of thing, admitted that it was weird that I was asked and he wasn't.
So now, FSIL calls up my FH and says that two of her FH's brothers are unable to be in the bridal party, so she asked him and is going to also ask their brother to be in the bridal party. I think this is unbelievably rude. First it didn't matter to you whether your brothers were in the bridal party and now you have the nerve to ask them because your FH's brothers dropped out? Ugh!! FH mentioned to their mom that he was offended and even she agreed. I told him I would have said no if I was in his position, and he was like 'that would probably upset her.' Maybe I'm not the nicest person, but WHO CARES if it upsets her?? FH is too nice, haha.

I totally agree with you...I don't think it's right...I've seen bridal parties with 5 girls and 10 guys! The #'s shouldn't matter if it's all family...you shouldn't leave important people like that out...if it was a friend it would be different, but I agree with you AND I have to say I agree with FH, how is he going to say no if he's a nice guy.

Yea... no. My brother is in the wedding party. He was never asked. He just is whether anyone likes it or not.. he's my brother.
That's ridiculous.

He definitely has a right to be upset about it. I am such a peacekeeper, so I would probably tell FH to just accept her offer. It WAS incredibly rude to do that, not to mention weird to ask you and not your FH. But, at this point, it is not like you are going to get through to her, just I would suck it up and play nice until all of the weddings are over!

I agree with you that it is totally rude, but you can look at it as a funt ime for you and FH if he says yes. Some people are superstitious about walking down the aisle together before they are married, but me and FH think it will be fun at my brother's wedding this summer. You guys can have fun with it also! Please more time to spend with each other and making each other laugh when you are stuck taking pictures.

I would be upset about it also but I would not hold a grudge. Seems totally wrong but when it comes down to it they are family and family is most important!

AGREED!
And to be honest, as much as I find it weird that you were picked to be in the original bridal party and he wasn't (maybe they wanted to keep it even and she doesn't have as many close friends?), I don't think I'd be that mad. But like Mara said, family is family

I would probably be annoyed that I was chosen as a replacement, but not mad that I wasnt chosen originally...but like some of the others said family is family.

I seem to agree with you very often!! This is how I feel. I kind of waiver on the 'family is family' part bc some families are not lovey-dovey etc.

I agree... I'm usually all about getting mad and being spiteful but in this case I wouldn't be....I'd just be weirded out and be in it anyway.
however, if it was a friend and not family situation I'D DEF SAY NO WAYYYYYYYYY Im no 2nd choice! lol

This should have been obvious to me before, but I just realized when I was talking to FH that it was his sister who asked him to be a groomsmen and not her FH! So so weird.

i think its a little weird too. I mean i get where the guy is coming from that he's picking his brothers first but what is two more guys if theres already a lot. I have two sisters and he has two sisters thats already 4 people and i still want to include two of my cousins. my fh got lucky since neither of us have brothers
