I spoke to my cousin a couple of months ago when I found out that she got engaged ( at the time she didn't even get her ring) I told her that I also was engaged and gave her the date of our wedding. I just found out that she is getting married the day before my wedding . I really wanted my aunt and cousins to come to my wedding but now I know they won't come

Re: Would you be upset...
It's one thing to do a month before, maybe even a week before because family could take off for vacation the whole week...but THE DAY BEFORE??!! I would be primo pissed. That just screams 'I'm doing this on purpose because I want all the attention first!'
I noticed what is happening a lot with girls on here is the minute they get engaged, another family member gets engaged, and then they ask when their date is so as not to cause conflict, but then they end up planning their weddings right before anyway!! What is up with these people??!!
And to say you can't afford the ring but you can afford planning the wedding? I don't know about that.
Relax, take a deep breath. In the end everyone knows you got engaged first. And whatever you do, DO NOT TELL HER ANY OF YOUR IDEAS. Even if she says she wants to avoid the weddings looking the same!!

She chose the day before even though she knew your date? I would be upset about that.

Why do people do that? I don't understand. Is there any way you can talk to her? Has she actually booked anything for that date yet?

Re: Would you be upset...
I think it wouldn't really bother me if she wasn't my 1st cousin. My dad speaks to her mom b/c it is his sister., but I really don't talk to her. She did live w/us for a couple of months when she was making a career move. My aunt and cousins live in florida and she is having her wedding also in florida so we won't be sharing any ideas.

Yeah thats pretty messed up!!! I would most definately be mad. Of all the days in the year, she had to pick the day before yours.. AND shes your 1st cousin. Amazing.

Re: Would you be upset...
i would definitely be upset. plus that puts all your other 1st cousins, aunts, uncles in a awkward spot because it would be hard to go to two weddings in two days in two different states. that was very inconsiderate of her

I would definitely be up set - you told her when you called her and she didn't even have her ring at that point that's really not nice!

Re: Would you be upset...
that is some serious BS
she knew when your wedding was. sorry but how dare she do that to you. every woman looks forward to 'THE DAY' you shouldn't have to be going through this. i'm really sorry. if that were me, i would not speak to them. they are totally taking this away from you.
I wouldn't even send a gift

I am so sorry!!! Honestly, that is so rude, childish, inconsiderate, selfish, etc I could go on forever.....!!!! She has some nerve!!! First, can you talk to her? Ask her, why did she pick that date? Is it sentimental to her for any reason? I would talk to her or your aunt and tell her you are upset, because what if you were planning to have a rehearsel dinner the night before and how can you really enjoy her wedding when yours is the next day?! But think about it this way, anyone who truly loves you will be there on your special day.... Best of Luck!!!

Oh man, that's soo rude! She's definitely an attention hog.
Maybe you could talk to your family and tell them what she did. You might as well embarass her - and maybe her folks will make her change her date.
Even if it is a week ahead or after yours, it would still give ppl time to travel.
Sorry you have to deal with that- I would be crushed, too.

that makes me so mad to think that a person can be so selfish. if it were a friend maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but this is a cousin which means u guys will probably invite some of the same people is she serious, about this date or did she just say that b/c she wants that date, and wants u to change? i'm mad for u
