Would you be upset....

If your FMIL went to get a dress without you and it turns out yours and hers are similar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So first I was upset when I went to FH's house one night and his mom and sis told me she got a dress...but I got over it...then she went for a fitting the other night and I was asking how it looks, and the waist area has gathering (drapping) to one side...which mine also does!!!! I don't want to upset myself b/c I do not need the added stress, and I know the dresses will not look the same, but I was a bit annoyed!! Am I over reacting??

What would you do??

I would be pissed too-- especially if it sounded like the same style- but alas-- remember this -- all eyes will be on you-- not her, the copying FMIL!

Ok.
First off, did you actually SEE the dress, or are you just going by a description?
Second, has she seen pictures of your dress?
I am sure the two dresses are totally different. Don't worry about it.

You guys are making me feel soo much better! I showed them a picture of my dress, so I know his sister wouldn't let her get something too similar to mine! I just wish I was there when she chose it! And since I havent seen it, I really shoudl stress!!

I would be annoyed too but like others said the wedding all eyes will be on you. No one will even notice her.

My initial reaction is to be upset. But then I remember that no one cares what anyone is wearing except the bride - and since all eyes are on her for the day . . .

If anyone think someone copied a dress, they would think it's her.

What kind of bride in a normal state of mind would copy a FMIL dress, right?

Anyway, there is no way she could stand out more than you! Whatever the attempt is!
