Would you be upset?

Would you be upset?

I had a friend whom I was very close with in the past. We became friendly and did everything together. I went to her baby shower and her and I have a mutual friend together who is in my bridal party and pregnant. Her baby shower is shortly after my wedding.

I invited this other girl to my shower (she didnt come) and to my wedding (just found out she's not coming).

I was slightly offended and thought she would have come to my wedding because we were pretty close. She said I will see when I have a baby how my social life changes drastically and said 'i hope you dont hate me' in a text message.

Am I overreacting? I am hurt because I felt like I did the right thing for her and I didnt want a gift, I just wanted her to come to my wedding at the very least.

Opinions please...tell me I'm being an emotional bridezilla. FH thinks its messed up of her lol

Re: Would you be upset?

How long ago did she have the baby? My sister had a baby 3 months ago, and her social life has DRASTICALLY changed. She said the other day, 'If you weren't my sister, I probably wouldn't go to a wedding in July after having a baby in April.' My sister took her infant daughter to the wedding, but it was definitely a big to-do because my sister and her husband had to take turns holding/taking care of the baby (who was, BTW, so incredibly well behaved at the wedding).

I would probably give her the benefit of the doubt, especially if the baby is 3 months old or younger.

He's 2, or just at the 2 year mark. I just am bummed because I was there for her milestone and I thought she would have been there for me too....

Then if he's 2, why the hell can't she get a baby sitter????

Re: Would you be upset?

Unfortunately i am dealing with this as well.. my best friend and BM had a baby 1.5 years ago and she completely changed. I barely see her or talk to her anymore. I helped her plan her entire wedding and she doesn't even ask me how mine is coming.. I feel like my wedding is a burden to her

I am sure she is busy so I try and not let it bother me.. but I wish she didnt change so much. I know alot of other ppl that have had babies and are still the same old person +1

personally I think thats BS that the baby is 2 and she rsvp'ed no... get a babysitter..jesus.. Doesnt she WANT to get away from being a mom for one night to celebrate with an old friend?!? FYI I have a friend (not even a reallly close one) that had a baby 2 months ago and she RSVP'ed Yes. So if I was in your place yes I would be upset.

ok im done rambling

At first I kinda agreed with the 2nd post but if the baby is TWO years old. I would be totally upset....can't she leave him w/ a family member for ONE night????

Thats a little redic to me. Sorry

Thanks for all your input girls. I am just very sensitive lately and realizing how people can be kinda cold to you.

I just feel so stupid for thinking she would at least want a night to party with her hubby and no baby. Guess not.

I think the bottom line is she just didnt want to be bothered seeing me get married

My best friend has a 2 yr old daughter and is my BM...she has made it to my shower & bachelorette party. If your friend really wanted to make it she could have. Tell her to stop using her baby as an excuse. I can understand if she just had the baby and he/she was a couple of months old...but give me a break- she couldnt make it to anything??? Whatever, I would tell her the deal and move on. Im sorry about your friend...the people who care about you will be there
