Would you book a hair/makeup person without doing a trial?

Would you book a hair/makeup person without doing a trial?

Just curious? I'm concerned about losing my date so am considering leaving a deposit but can't have a trial immediately because I'm OOT. I figured the worst that can happen is I lose the deposit, right?

Did anyone do this?

ETA: I've seen quite a few samples of their work...and am very pleased.

I would do it, sounds like eventually you plan on having one - and in that case I would book.

I probably would. Especially if I saw the hair style I wanted on someone they did. If they have a good reputation I'm sure you won't have any problems.

I did - for both hair and makeup. And I was very happy with the wedding day results!

If you feel confident in their work and will have a trial to see what you like before the wedding, then definitely do it!

I agree, but I would definitely have a trial before the wedding day

I am in the same situation. I booked hair and makeup before a trial...I had my trials a few weeks ago and they went fine...I think it will be fine.

I would have because I used my regular salon, the only reason I did trials was b/c I had no clue what I wanted with hair or makeup

I did it. I had a problem with my orginal hair person and was stuck for someone a month before my wedding. So my cousin recommended a friend of hers, who did her hair for her wedding. I had seen her pics and her hair was beautiful, so I booked the girl w/out having a trial.

I was so happy on the day of, it was perfect!!!

I agree with all this...and like you said the worst you lose is a deposit!
