It had everything you wanted, needed minor work, the price was right, the property was everything you wanted but you found out someone was stabbed there a few years ago and didn't die My DH is in love with this house but something felt weird about to me - I did some research and low and behold, there was a brutal assault where someone almost died. I didn't break him the news yet - I was rather leery of the house to begin with but after reading the horrific news story I'm sure I could never live there. (this explains why they painted the floor in the garage dark grey - very scary)

Re: Would you buy a house if...
Honestly it wouldn't stop me. I might feel weird about buying a house that someone was murdered in or something, the whole idea of ghosts haunting or whatever, but people die in houses ALL the time (old people who want to die at home) and I think that's more eerie than an assault happening there. I would buy the house if I liked everything else about it.

I think just the way you described your feeling should answer your question. You would always think of that event every time you step foot into the garage. There are many houses though, where people have died. My aunt and uncle both passed away in their house and now a young family with children lives there. My only concern would be if the area itself is safe.

I think it would be different if an elderly person passed away but this is just too crazy for me...

honestly no..... There are a million homes on the market right now. It would freak me out all the time and would probaby never enter the garage. IMO your home should be a place you feel the safest and most comfortable. If those 2 things arn't there I wouldn't live there

You seem really bothered by it. I would probably be too though.

I wouldn't. I would not want to spend all the money on a house only to think about that awful incident whenever I walked in.

it wouldnt stop me, just my opinon. If you felt weird about the place before having evidence something happened there that may be your gut giving you a sign about the place in general. If its perfect and its just nerves go for it, your new positive energy will change the place anyways

IMO -- Don't do it. If you feel uncomfortable with the house, it's not for you.
I loved the stats on one house and FH and I went to drive by it before we looked at it with the real estate agent. We got there, faced the car towards the house with the headlights flashing on it (it was nighttime and there was no one living in it) and we both had the 'get the fcuk out of there right now...' feeling. Like, we couldn't leave fast enough. My heart was pounding as we drove away. My real estate agent said it best -- if you get a weird feeling, it's just not for you.

I would defininitely stay away from that house. I don't believe in haunted houses or anything like that, but ugh, I just couldn't live where someone was stabbed.
With all the homes on the market, I'm sure there's some more houses very close by that don't have that house's history.

As long as the area itself is a safe area.
What happened in the house really may just have been an unfortunate incident.

I wouldn't. JMO. Yes I know stuff happens in houses all the time but I'd rather not know about it. If i knew, I wouldn't be able to buy it.
