I recently went to a wedding and a woman who was a guest wore a white dress I thought to myself I wouldn't where a white dress. Would you wear a white dress to some's weddings?

I wouldn't do it, but someoen else just told me they did. I think that people who haven't been to a lot of weddings and who aren't involved with any of the wedding planning just don't think about it.
My GF who did this never even thought about it.

No, I wouldn't.
My mil wore such a light silver dress to my bil's wedding that it looked pretty darn close to white. Dh's aunt wore off white to our wedding. People are STILL telling them they shouldn't have!

Nope, I always thought it was one of those things. I think It's tacky and upstaging!

NOOOO white is for the bride only,
I think a champagne color or beige as long as it was dark enough not to look white in any light

Re: Would you do this?
I wouldn't but I would definitely make sure none of the major family members are wearing white or anything close to it. I saw wedding pictures where the mother of the groom & a close aunt wore white/linen white & it was horrible in the pictures! There were some shots that looked like it was from a second marriage.

no way! and i warned my stepmom that she can't wear white or ivory. Its a custom in her native country, but I told her NOT HERE! she did ask to wear black... when all the other mothers are wearing springy colors.

No way. White, ivory, light beige and other similar colors are off limits IMO.

Re: Would you do this?
My MIL's dress is what she calls 'beige' but its more like a beigey/ivory. HELLLOOO, my dress is ivory! Whatever. I didn't feel like making a big deal about it, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to look too great in pictures.

I think no immediate family members should be in white but I feel 50-50 on guests.

Re: Would you do this?
NO way! But, one of my best friend's mother recently showed me an ivory dress that she was wearing to a wedding. She is a VERY refined woman and goes to MANY weddings.
I was very surprised. When she asked my opinion, I said, 'wow. this is for a wedding?'
She said, 'well, it's an afternoon wedding, so that's okay, right?'
I just said, 'um, I don't know'

I don't think it would bug me if it was, say a white pant suit or a white suit/skirt...but a long, white, flowy dress....that would tick me off!
