Would you do this....

I am hearing from all different photographers that my church is one of the strictest they work with. I was already told that we may not be able to have a mass because we FH doesn't go to mass enough, that we really shouldn't have a large bridal party, that we can't go back into the church once we step outside, and that the receiving line may have to be done in the parking lot (this may be negotiable) The worst for me is that they won't allow the guest the throw rose petals. Would you throw them anyway - and clean them up or something. They are just so beautiful in the pictures.

I think it would probably be disrespectful to do that, so I was just curious what you all thought.

My church is almost as bad as yours.... I can't throw anything either so I'm doing ribbon wands for the exit and no rose petal scattering for the little girls

Oh I didn't even think of the FG's - oh thats too bad - we aren't having a FG, but that would be a shame if they couldn't scatter petals.

What are you having the girls do?

Guys, Im in the same boat. My church is also strict and we cant throw anything. Whats even worse is that they wont allow an aisle runner.
Anyway, Im thinking either wands or sparklers. But I can all ready see my church giving me problems about the sparklers.

Are any of these strict churches in RVC? I havent met with my church yet about any of this and I never thought of it either. I def want roses thrown and will be so sad if we can't.

Personally I wouldn't throw them if the church did not allow it. If the priest or any of the church staff see it they could refuse you give them out the day of your wedding and then you'll have nothing.

What about bubbles? They look very pretty too. Or release butterflies or something like that?

my church won't allow us the following: 1 - no aisle runner, 2 - no rose pedals, birdseed, butterflies, confetti, doves...nothing is to be thrown outside the church. i'm not really worried about it, i like the bells idea. i'm sure you can do something else.

I wouldn't do it. If your heart is set on getting pics with rose petals, isn't there a way you could recreate the pic at your hall, or wherever you are taking pictures? You could even get the same effect with just your bridal party, or close family members in the picture.
