I'm petrified of buying one online. they do have amazing prices, but what if the quality isn't there? at least if you go to a bridal store you can fight with them face to face if there is an issue. also, what looks good in a picture may not look good on. Good luck!

They dont have any negatives and/or complaints so I would think it would be okay

If I were sure that the style would look good on me. Also, I would buy it big, rather than small, since its easier to take in if its too big!

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
I bought a bridesmaid's dress online and it looked great, and I paid less than a third of the retail value. My advice would be to make sure the dress is from a reputable bridal store like david's bridal so that you know the quality is good, and be sure to check the seller's feedback. If all is good you probably have nothing to worry about, most of the gowns on there were only worn once.

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
I actually DID purchase my dream gown on ebay lol. Mine wasn't from a store like this though, it was a dress that someone else bought but didn't use, so it was unaltered, tags attached, with the original paperwork. It was a $4,500 dress, and I won it for $1,200. Funny enough, the girl lived in Texas but she actually purchased the dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place... and I'm doing my alterations there now.
I knew I wanted St. Pucchi, and I knew I couldn't afford it... and I LOVE my dress. I am thrilled with the deal I got, I feel like it was such a lucky break.
If they have no negative feedback, I'd say its worth it.

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
I would, this is their policy, so as long as you follow the rules, I don't see why not.
Our Return Policy: We will be glad to extend a 24 hour return policy upon receiving the gown at the auction winner's location.
When you receive your dream dress, you will need to email us within the first 24 hours to state if you will be keeping the gown or returning it.
If you decide to return the gown, it will need to be shipped back by UPS, USPS or FedEx insured and be received by us within 5 business days in the same condition as it was sent. You will be responsible for the gown until it is received back safely to our location.
Once we receive the gown back we will inspect it and, if in the same condition as the gown was sent to you, we will refund the price of the gown only. All shipping charges are non-refundable.
If we do not hear from you by email within the first 24 hours of receiving the gown, we will consider the gown satisfactory and no returns/refunds will be accepted.
All returns must be approved by us or the gown/package will be refused / returned to you. Please email us within 24 hours of receiving the gown at [email protected] for us to approve the return.
Please note: Accessories are not returnable

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
I just read the return policy and I think I would...I mean you can get a great price on a beautiful dress...it might be good to go to a store try on a dress and then order online . In my dress experience sometimes you cant tell if it will look good unitl its on!

You should suggest she check out the bridal garden in NYC. They sell designer dresses at a large discount because they are runway samples or store samples. They have some really good names. At least she would be able to try the dress on.

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
yes. i got my dress from a former bride on ebay, and this is one of the most legitimate stores on the web.
these are actual dresses, unlike the majority which are poorly made knock offs from overseas.

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
I am a very picky shopper, and have never had a bad experience buying designer 2nd hand clothes on ebay.
All wedding dresses need alterations, so make sure to oder a little larger. If its got an intricate pattern you may not want to risk it, as its hard to photograph and hard to alter.

Re: would you ever consider buying a dress...
i'd make sure to find out all about the persons return policy and their feedback, but overall, if i found my dream dress at a great price, i'd be ok with it. i'd also make sure to have a good seamstress to go to for fittings tho.

I would never buy a wedding gown via Ebay. I do, however, shop them for many things....just not for a gown!
