I want to pass it down..whether or not they decide they wear it.
I wish my Mom would have had hers...it may not have been my style..but I could have altered it..or used fabric from it.
So I want to have my own for my daugthers

Aren't most rental gowns really ugly and over used?

Re: Would you ever consider renting....
I'd definitely consider it, but wearing clothes that complete strangers have worn kind of skeeves me out (I'm so not a fan of renting ice-skates, for example. Ew. And bowling shoes).
I'm also considering donating my dress after the wedding anyway, so I guess I'm not so attached to hanging onto it.

My girlfriend did it. She loved the idea.
Her dress was beautiful.

No I want to own my gown and have it as a keepsake and in case my daughters would ever want to wear it I want that option.

Re: Would you ever consider renting....
FH's friends wife did it and her dress was gorgeous you would have never known, but it's just not for me.

Re: Would you ever consider renting....
Absolutely not. It's just not for me. If I ever have a daughter, I'd like to give it to her, or even perhaps my grandchild. It will have such a sentimental value, that renting one to me would be a waste of money, and not have a special meaning behind it. Good question though Cee!!!

Re: Would you ever consider renting....
Its weird, In Greece the norm is to rent a dress and buying it is just way too expensive. For renting it, it cost them just ask much as it costs us to buy one here. About 2K. crazy

If money was an issue or if I found the perfect dress that was rentable in good shape I would consider it. My god mother is buying my dress so I want to get my own.

I can say I am not renting but I am not nor will I spend 2K on a dress I am going to wear once...maybe if I love it and it was covered in gold-but for me I just cant spend that much!
