FBIL is getting married in June. We recently received the invitation and I noticed that the invitation was addressed Mr. Harry Smith and Marie
I thought that was a bit odd. I would think one would write Mr. Harry Smith and Ms. Marie Jones
What do you think? Maybe I think it is odd because I get the impression she is not too fond of me.

That might be OK if it was someone who was not close to you at all.... but coming from FBIL I would be insulted.

I think I would be a little bit upset. Maybe they couldn't remember your last name??( I am trying to make excuses) but my FH's friend who we had been hanging out with for a few months before their wedding sent our invite to MR Bernie XXXXX and guest and I was upset

Actually one was sent to my family and the names were correct. I CHECKED! I am so upset but FI got mad at me for getting upset at that. Just one thing to do respond the right way on the response card. If it were done on purpose then she will get the point. I hate tension

Well that is the most tactful way to handle it good luck...my FH's friends definitely KNOW my name now We are very good friends

I feel for you! FBIL just had his e-party and our invite was addressed to John and Jane, no last names at all, and trust me, his FW is no fan of mine. I don't know if it was intentional, personally I think it was lack of etiquette knowledge. Some people are just naturally thoughtless. I wouldn't worry about your FBIL, I'm sure he played no role in any of it.

Nferrandi: I honestly would rather she have adressed it that way. I would still be upset but not as upset. The other way seems as though she only wants one person to attend and oh yea the girl Harry calls his fiance.
