Would you have an early ceremony and reception to...

save $10,000???
If I change my reception from day to night I have to guarentee 25 more people (which will be no problem because we are inviting 200 and I think more than 125 will show) and the price goes up $35pp. Is it worth it to have a PM reception?
We would be having a tent set up at my moms house with a stocked bar and some music and BBQ for afterwards

They have such beautiful grounds that if it was in the evening not only would it be $$$$ but u cant see outside, even though its lighted. It just is the right thing.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR MAKING MY DOUBTS GO AWAY!!

If you don't have the extra $10k then by all means, go for the cheaper option. My FI and I kind of had no choice but to have a day wedding even though I love Sat. night weddings! We just didn't want to scrimp and save and work tons of OT all year to earn the extra money that having a night wedding would cost. We want to buy a house this year as well. I think if maybe we already owned a house or a condo and weren't renting, we may have bit the bullet & spent more money but it just wasn't an option. Go with what's going to be best for you financially in the long run! GL!

We decided we wanted a day wedding because my cousin had his during the day and we had the best time. We also priced an evening wedding and they told us it would be double, so that took any doubts out of our mind. We would rather put it towards a house

This is one of the things I wouldn't compromise on. I was willing to get married any day of the week, but it had to be a nighttime reception. Not so much for tradition's sake but because I need as much time as possible to get ready and take photos before the reception and whatever mishaps may need tending to, and because I want the day to last as long as possible! I don't want my reception to be over and have to change out of my gown at 6pm...for that I am willing to pay. My reception ends at 12:30am.

we had ours during the day. the ceremony was at 9:30 am and the reception was at 12:00. I thought at first it was too early but we ended up having a great day. More people were at the church than i would have thought and at the end of the reception a lot of people went to a nearby hotel and partied there the rest of the night. The weather was beautiful so having it during the day was worth it.
