I have never met FH family before and up until recently did they find out we were engaged (let alone dating...whole other topic). Anywho...my MOHs are planning my Bridal shower and I have to give them my list. Should I add them to this? They're. From NJ and I am hoping they will come to the wedding.
ETA: I have met his family on LI. Just not OOT family.

I invited all women that were invited to the wedding and I left it up to them if they wanted to come or not.

I don't think we will just because we're not that close with them see most once a year if that from FH's family (they live in Florida) but I have family that lives in Deleware and I would invite them and let them decide.

I'm not inviting any OOT people to my shower. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to send me a gift to something that they obviously won't come to. I have one aunt that lives in NJ that will be invited, but other than that, no one else from out of state will be invited.

ITA plus NJ is not far, they can probably come to BS. They have the option to come or not but at least you invited them.

FH's family is from CT. I invited all of the women invited to the wedding and none of them came or sent a gift. Precious!

Thanks grls. I decided to remove their names from the BS list. I have a couple of cousins and friends that live in NJ and will prob attend but FH family doesnt know me and I don't expect them to come down.

Yes, invite them out of courtesy.
MIL told my mom not to invite some of the OOT guests and they mentioned something to me about it later like 'I would've been more than happy to come in and see you before the wedding, didn't you have a bridal shower?' Yikes.

i think it depends on the size of the shower ... for my e-party, we had to limit the size to 50 people (my mom was paying and couldn't afford more than that) so we only invited FH's immediate family. My shower was at my mom's house so we limited it also and did not invite FH's relatives (other than his immediate family).
if you're having a big shower and the size isn't important, i think you really should invite them .... but if you have a limit, then don't - they should understand.

My FMIL gave my mom the list of who she wanted invited....OOT guests were invited...and they all came (minus his great aunt who is very ill). They traveled from RI, CT, & NJ.
