Would you leave early from a LAAATE Sat night wedding?
Jews aren't supposed to get married on Shabbat (which starts Friday at sundown and ends Sat at sundown). Would you leave early from a Sat night summer wedding that didn't start until after sundown? (lets say ceremony start time was 8:30pm)
If ceremony was 30 min, with no break for pictures and no viennese, end time would be 2am. With viennese, end time would be 3am.
A break for pictures wouldn't be practical, so B&G would probably have to do pictures before or miss the CH.
So... would you stay the whole time? Those of you who prefer Sat night weddings, would you still prefer one that starts late? Just curious

I think I would still go and stay the whole time. I mean I wouldn't have work the next day so it's not a big deal.

I would love to stay the whole time... but i guess it all depends on how great the party is as well...No one ever wants to leave if it's fun

i think i would stay the whole time. id be busying partying, its hard to keep track of time when that happens anyway. my recption ends at 1AM. i also asked to have the viennese but i asked that they not extend the time to 2AM. i didnt think my guests would stay this long and the kids wouldnt be up to enjoy it. i worked with the manager to try to fit it all in within the 1AM timeframe. i gave up my intermezzo and a few other things for this to happen. this also knocked the price down per person since i didnt have the extended time. but i think if a party extended to 2am, i would stay.

i would definitely stay until 2am. Well mine ends at 1:30am so i hope some do stay lol but my family and family friends always had events that ended at 5-6am so i am used to it...when my parents heard 1:30 am they were like OMG why so early
but yeah i am used to staying out real late and i like to stay for everything at a wedding.

Wow thats a tough one... I'd like to think I'd stay the whole time.. especially now knowing all the work & $$$ that goes into weddings... BUT I'd probably not be able to make it to the end, but that's because I'm not a dancer which is what keeps most guests entertained and awake

I would stay but you're going to lose the older bunch much earlier...it also depends on how far it is for everyone to travel and whether or not they're staying at a hotel

I wouldn't leave early at all.....but then again, we're all young on here and like to hang out. I'm sure your older relatives will probably leave early.
Also, if it's a friends wedding, all my friends always go back to the hotel on the shuttle and book rooms and hang out more no matter how close the wedding is to where we live, so ending time isn't an issue.

i would try my best...but i am like an old lady i dont like being up too late lol. I am sure most people will stay. I have been to wedding that end at 12 and people leave early. either way you will prob have a few guest that will not stay the whol;e time

I think I would definitely stay the whole time b/c that's how FH and I are....don't leave till the party's over! Most friends would probably be the same way, but I bet a lot of family would leave earlier....
FH and I did go to a wedding that ended at 2am, but it was on New Years Eve, so everyone stayed (ppl are more prepared to stay up late!)

you definitely will have some who leave early...and nobody is expected to stay until the end so that is understandable. I would say half or a little under half will stay.

That's what I assumed. We have a lot of family who will be travelling 1-2 hours, and we were afraid if we went with late Sat night a lot of people would leave 1-2 hours early. We figured most if not all of our friends would stay, but a lot of family would leave.
With the extra money it costs for a Sat night we didn't want 1/2 of our guests leaving very early!
That's why we went with a Sunday in Aug... most of our friends will be off Mon (grad students or teachers) and can come to our after party and stay out as late as they want, but our family members won't be forced to leave early and can come to our afterparty too if they want

Went to a Late Jewish wedding this summer for the same reason - it ended at 2 am. A lot of people did stay but most of the older relatives left earlier.

honestly, ive been to weddings that didnt end late and some people still leave early...They have young kids at home or some other reason. It happens
