Would you like this as a surprise from your maid of honor?

One of my best friends is getting married next september, and I am her MOH. She and her FH just moved into their new house, and are planning on having a BBQ engagment bash w/ friends and family. I was thinking about having Save the date magnets made for her. Everthing is already set...date, place etc. Should I do it?? I don't think she would think to do them on her own, not that she would not like them. Is that something she should do for herself, or do you think it is cute??


UPDATE; I spoke w/ my friend, and she was really excited about it...she's gonna pick them out, and I'm going to buy them! Thanks girls!!

I would not want someone else designing my save the date magnets. That would overstep a boundary for me and put me in an uncomfortable situation if I had something else in mind (or didn't want to send them).

That's something very personal, and as a bride, it's a detail I'd want to pick out myself. I'd also want it to be up to me whether or not I even send out save the date magnets.

Maybe a homemade gift certificate to pay for them and help design them if she chooses to send them instead?

Is she getting married Sept 07 or 08? If it's 07 it's probably too late to send out STD's!
Just wanted to check and make sure!
Other than that, I think it's a cute idea!!

I agree... maybe a gift certificate or something for her to go have them made would be better? or a few for her to pick the style...

I kinda agree. It's a GREAT thought, but I wouldn't want someone else doing it either.

Maybe you could print up some type of certificate for her saying that you'll do it for her. Something like, this certificate entitiles the bearer to the STD manget of her choice.

Maybe even show a mock up or something.

Yeah i have to agree. I am very picky when it comes to these type of things and there are ALOT of things I don't like. Also for me i want to use a pic from my e-shoot and if someone did it for me i wouldn't be able to do that. I also don't like ALOT of stuff I see that are popular. Such as I don't want hearts, the color pink, nothing princess-like.

I think its great of you to even think of this and trying to help her out, you're a great friend. But I would go with another gift, and with the STD's talk to her about it and ask if she is going to do them, and maybe you can help her later on pick them out or something

did she register? maybe getting her something off of that.

And when is she getting married? is it too late to do them?

I don't know think about it from her side, would you want someone to pick out your invitations, STD's, place cards or anything Wedding related without consulting you.

The MOH usually gets the bride other type of gifts

Well she has plenty of time to send out STD's...I would just bring it up to her if she doesn't know about STD's and see what she wants to do, and then you can show her different styles and designs

i think that is sweet ~ especially if she is not planning on sending them!
