Would you rather be...

Would you rather be...

deaf or blind?

I've been sitting in this class all week from 8am - 4pm. So incredibly boring! Its all about assessing disabilities of children in school. (It's a class for teachers.) And I just thought of this question....

I think I would rather be deaf. I think it would be much harder to not see everything. I could deal with no hearing.

What about you? Would you rather be deaf or blind? Any reason why?

I'd like to see my FH when I smack him for calling me something mean, I can read lips pretty well.

I would rather be deaf also....I would not want to be able to see the face of my fiancee or our future children

I used to think I'd rather be deaf. But now I think I'd rather be blind. It'd be so hard to have to relearn how to communicate with people, they'd have to learn how to communicate with you, and not have music or be able to listen to the television. Or hear FH tell me he loves me

definitely deaf. I'd rather not be able to hear than see. That scares me.

definitely rather be deaf. I just feel that it'd be way more frustrating not to see someone who's talking rather than being able to read their lips.

Id much rather see FH's face, or my future childs face, then hear their voice.

def def. I would hope that i will learn how to read lips or at least people can write what they say. being blind, i would not be able to see the goodness that i've seen in my travels, friends and fam.

I'd rather be neither lol.... but if I were to choose I'd pick deaf. I know basic sign language and I am pretty good at reading lips so I think I would handle it better. I don't think I could deal with not being able to see anything

Re: Would you rather be...

i had a deaf student in my class last year and she lived life like a normal person, had a 99 avg and lots of friends (who all learned sign language)

being blind i feel like u cant live a completely normal life. In college I had to walk a blind student back to her dorm everyday.....the fact that u r so dependent on someone to get u from one place to another

Definitely deaf. I really can't even imagine going through life without seeing anything around me. Scary.

My vote is deaf. You can still drive and learn sign language.
