NO...I like the time apart. It allows me to be a psychologist and not a FI. I work with my mom and that is very hard at times. But it is also the best experience and overall i consider myself lucky.

Re: Would you work with your FH (DH)????
Nope, I love him to death, but I like having my space during the day. Not seeing him all day makes me appreciate coming home to him at night!!

No, I love him to pieces but he gets grumpy when he's working on something and its a project that is very involved.

Though I would love for him to come to work with me for just one week. He thinks that teaching is fun and games. He thinks I don't get grading done because I too busy playing heads up 7up with the kids and other things like that!
If he came into education...why not...there is so much time where you are not with other adults...I think it would be OK...
My sister and BIL met in their school...but are on opposite ends...different departments...and usually don't share similar periods off...so they work together...but barely see each other...

I agree. I would be distracted from my job with him around because he is just so darn cute!

Re: Would you work with your FH (DH)????
I have mixed feelings about this. I believe an occupation is something great to call your own and that gives you your own identity; something separate and sacred from all those close to you. However, I would also love to work with FH because I feel we would make a great team. It would also be great comfort to have someone to work with who I know will always be on my side and supportive; especially in this competitve dog eat dog workforce!! It is tough out there and it is great to know you have someone on your side; disagreements and alll!!! All in all, it would definitely have to be in a place where we work in different 'ends' if you will. I do not know if we could work on top of each other all day long!!!

i wouldn't want to work with him out in the workplace like at a corporation.
but we do want to start a business together and in that case, yes, i would love to work with him.

NO....I enjoy being able to talk to him after work to tell him about my day....and I also enjoy hearing about his. It's something about the words 'how was your day?', that makes me feel good....to know he really cares.

Re: Would you work with your FH (DH)????
Oh dear god no!!! I love him to death, but he can be the most impatient person to work with, especially since he's all about computers and has NO patience for anyone who doesn't know a lot about them. He's incredibly good at what he does, but he is NOT a people person. Not to mention that he can be a real azzhole in business situations, but maybe that's why he's successful. I could never work with him in his field, and he could never work with me in mine. When we try to talk to each other about our work, it's like we're speaking in foreign languages that neither one of us understands. He starts talking all techie on me (and I understand far more than most) and I start speaking legalese, and neither one of us can keep up.
Even if we were in the same field, we both have control issues, so any differences of opinion on how to handle things would bankrupt us.

We owned a small take out restaurant a few years ago together and it was hell! On our down time, I wanted to be as far away from his as possible! Sometimes it is nice just to be you and not so and so's wife/husband.

Re: Would you work with your FH (DH)????
I met FI while working abroad. I didn't know anyone and we became friends and then dated shortly after. After a few months, he pretty much lived with me (went to his house every 2 weeks to get mail). We had 3 meals a day together. Got to know each other well very quickly!
He is now in the US and he is a grad student, I don't work so we are together all but 3 hours a day. And we live in a studio apartment in Manhattan.
I know we won't be together all the time forever but I'm so used to it.
We definitely go out with friends by ourselves though or we'd go crazy.

I would work with FH. I work in publishing and he is in corporate accounting. If he worked in the accounting dept of my company, I would never see him or have contact with him and so it would be fine. We could have lunch together occassionally or be separate.
Most of all, I would love to have him commute with me again on the LIRR. We solidified our friendship while riding the LIRR together. Then he got a job on LI
