WOW!!!
I got my first response already and it was a yes!!! My fiance's aunt and uncle, who are 85 and 90 respectively, are certainly quick. They must have gotten it yesterday and mailed it right back. I was mad at my fiance because he opened it berore I even got home from work and I was the one who spent countless hours on the computer addressing both the inside and outside envelopes. I told him since I did all the work, including putting together the whole guest list and setting up a spreadsheet to keep track of everything, I get to open them not him!! I told him if we get a lot in one day I might let him open one or two. I was just teasing him of course, but if we get more tomorrow I bet they will still be unopened when I get home!!. This is really fun.

WOW!!!
My FI did the same thing with the first responses we received. I guess he is really getting excited too. Now we open them together and guess who is responding based on the postmark. Fun!

Wendy, I know how you feel...
Luckily when we first start getting our responses back, my fiance and I had to carpool, but now we haven`t been able to. When we were carpooling, we shared in the opening process, now .. he`s been getting home before me, and opening them all .. I think I might have to give him your speech! LOL .. cuz I did all the addressing and stuffing too!! :)

MINE SLOWED DOWN - ALL THE LAST MIN PEOPLE
My RSVP date is this Saturday. I still don't have almost 40 of them. I'll give it until next week I guess. I hate this part!

WOW!!!
My sister`s husband would hide there responses to tease her b/c he knew that she would run home from work to open them. She would get home and be very disappointed b/c there were none and he would just walk out of the bedroom reading them. I think I will be very excited just like you. I can`t wait.

WOW!!! MY MOM OPENED THEM
I get home and see opened reply cards 2 days after mailing the invites. I was so upset I wanted to open them So now she leaves them for me but if the person put them in the envelope a certain way and wrote with a dark pen you can see thru so they know who said yes and know with out opening. So now my dad says we got replies and I peeked!!!

One is in the mail. Yeah!!!!!!!
One of the groomsmen received the invite the day after I mailed it and sent it back we should be getting it in the mail today. Yeah! Maybe some others did too. I know the family I invited in NJ did not receive theirs yet - probably today. The groomsman I was mentioning lives in the Bronx.

what address do you put?
I have been using my parents address for everything, because it is stable. (I live 45 min away and we are moving again in March), but I will mail my invites after we are settled. I thought it was supposed to be the brides parents address? But I want to open them right away too! What did you guys do?

what address do you put?
If you are going to be settled in your new home when you send out the invites I would put your address. If you are going to be in transition I would recommend using your parents. It is up to you. Like everything else there are no must do items.

Depends on how technical...
If your parents are the official hosts, then technically the responses should probably be addressed to them. My fiance and I had put off planning our wedding til we were somewhat financially ready for it, then started making plans. My parents then said they would help as much as they could. And we know his parents will help a bit too. Both sets of parents names appear on the invites, but since we already own our home and we consider this to be mostly our expense and our planning responsibility, we have the responses coming back to us. Do what`s most comfortable for you.

Another question on invites? (long)
Are you receiving the 20% no's everyone says? We sent ours out last Tuesday (8/20 response), and so far we've received about 8 a day (yeah, so fun - most people write such nice things on the card - I always check the box!) and everyone has said yes. I'm hoping that the no's will come later?? As a note, my father included alot of associates and friends (don't ask). I'n afraid to exceed my room's capacity! Average % of no's please??

A quick update!!!
I got home today and there were 3 response envelopes sitting unopened on the kitchen counter. Of course then I felt bad about getting mad over the whole thing and told my fiance he could open 2 and I would open 1. He said no and let me open them all, but he stood right there when I did it and now is teasing me because only 1 response so far has been from my family and the rest have been from his. He says now he gets to open the envelopes tomorrow!!!I bet we will be racing each other to the mailbox to see how many come.

To kaycee0921...
We started out basically getting only yes responses. By the time we had gotten back 20 responses, I think we only had 1 no. We`ve continued to get a steady stream of responses, though it has slowed some, and there are still lots and lots missing, the no responses are gaining. I don`t have an exact figure, but we might finally be at about the 20% range, and our invites have been out for 3 weeks now.

Everyone keeps saying 20% and slightly higher for alot of out of towners. I just sent mine July 18 and we got our first responses Saturday 7 of them 6 yes(s) and one No. Some had nice notes. The no thanked us which was sweet. So far we are on track can't wait to see how many come today. How many did you invite? What is your room capacity?

330 people (counting the 'and guests'). I called when this was getting out of hand and I was quoted 300 on the phone. When I went to do my menu, the manager claimed 325. Either way, this is way too many people for me. Now I`m worrying about figuring out who these people are when we go around - I told my Dad to provide name tags! Just keep smiling - right!

Wow that is alot of people. I hope your wedding budget can handle it. I would assume the no's will come later than most of the yes(s). I was talking to a single friend and she said she usually waits on the reply to see if she can find a date but she feels funny going alone. Hopefully all your singles won't feel that way. and will come alone. She also stated she second guesses going if she doesn't have a date. Keep me posted on your replies I'll do the same. Invited 260 with the 'and guest' plus Italy invites. Need 200Welcome New Vendors
