FH and I were opening up our RSVP's last night, and we are excited because there are a lot of replies for yes..and a few for no..which we knew about.
FH opens one and his facial expression made me do a double take. It just so happened one of the invites...who happened to have gone to elem school with me(we were best friends), is good friends with FH, and we were good friends up until college...had a lil falling out few years back..but made up--well, she decided to RSVP a NO. Now, I kind of got a little hurt by it, but at the same time, I thought she's gotta be kidding me. Every single one of her friends will be there. I don't get it. Is it because I didn't invite your mother??? I'm sorry but I can't invite everyone to this wedding. There is a budget. if your gonna be like that to me why should I be nice to you?
She's known about my day for the past two years, and she even spoke to me a lil over 2 months ago regarding my wedding. I don't get it....
It's a long history with us...I just thought she'd be there...
FH and My mom told me not to worry about it....but I put on a brave face and said I don't give a damn..when inside I am a little hurt.

Re: wow
Yeah the no's hurt especialy from people that you have a long time relationship with. Maybe something really came up. If it bothers you I think you should call her and see what she says.

Re: wow
i'm sorry...it really stinks when you get a no from someone you really want there. maybe she really just can't make it, why don't you just give her a call and ask?

Re: wow
There could be a very reasonable explanation...even though she's known about the date. I wouldn't worry about it at all. All your friends/family who you don't have a rocky history with will be there!! Screw her!
Is it wrong that I love getting no's???? lol....

Re: wow
The thing is..she is the type of person that would want feedback.
I'm not dealing with it...if she really wanted to be there she would..
Whatever

Re: wow
Maybe she just can't make it because she has something else going on. There are people that have known about our wedding for a long time, but can't make it. It *****, but it happens.

Re: wow
sorry we had a couple odd 'no's' too- and I dont know if it was me and I was missing the most important day of someone's life- I would definately call them and explain or at least write something in the card.

I agree! I think it's just obnoxious not to write anything when you decline, especially if you have previously implied that you were coming!
