I've been so busy, stressed, depressed about this wedding that I haven't had any time to post. I swear fate just doesn't want me gettin' married. When it rains it pours I guess. It's been like 6 months since I last posted. The only major thing that has happened is a dress disaster. Back in Oct. I ordered my gown and told my consultant specifically what I wanted. They didn't have the sample in my size but stupid me figured the consultant would know what she was talking about. so ordered the dress anyway. Fast forward two weeks ago, I go pick up my dress and I look horrible in it. Did not fit my body type at all and it was nothing what I asked. Do anyone of you know what it's like to be a big girl in a fit and flare gown. A lot can pull it off but I'm shaped all ridiculous. Went to DB yesterday and got another gown beautiful gown but just not the one I envisioned. However the one at DB does look a helluva lot better on me so thats good. CONGRATS to all the earlier 2011 ladies who got married, I'm under 200 and still got alot to do!

i just replied on your post on brides helping brides but I just want to say again that I really feel for you and it's awful that they basically went all salesman on you and weren't looking out for you and what would flatter your body. A good consultant would've done that and I can only imagine your frustration and anxiety.
I am going through major bridesmaid dress drama right now so I can relate somewhat to feeling helpless and decieved by a store
I'm so sorry you had to resort to a plan B and hope you sell your dress. maybe post pics or style number?

I think Bridesmaid dress drama is tons worse than wedding dress horror!! Multiple people and dresses to deal with. My bridesmaid dresses don't come in till June so I'm praying those are right. I'm at my wits end with this wedding stuff. I hope your bridesmaid drama gets resolved and quickly!!! When we went to DB she knew exactly what I was looking for and what would've flattered me. I mean it's their job to do consult the bride on what will make her look gorgeous. Not to mention if you are going to be in the dress selling business, you should know what dresses will do well on all body types. Empire that are fit and flared will look nice on a proportioned correct plus girl but I'm all tummy. She gave me what she told me was the same cut and I tried that on and it looked good so I ordered. They went off the measurements for my hips but not my full waist. My mistake I shouldn't have ordered and kept looking.

UGH! I'm sorry you wewre mis-lead. I saw the pics in your album. I am a plus sized girl and I seriously don't think I could pull off that gown. I think that lady didn't know what she was talking about. I'm glad you were able to find something and I'm sure you will be a beautiful bride!

argh, my bm dresses were supposed to come in by April 20th and when they did I kept calling and they said they sometimes take a few days later than the date or come in a few days earlier. So they didn't even call the designer for several days. Then when they did, there was a problem with the color so they were being RECUT and have a new date of may 23rd!!!!!!!!!!
my worst nightmare since dresses aren't something you can just buy in a store and my girls are all out of state.
and they keep saying it'll be fine but I don't trust them any more.
and i don't blame you for ordering after I read the additional details. It is difficult to find stores where plus size ladies can see the actual dres on their bodies. I really hope that the bridal industry wakes the hell up and start carrying a few samples of each dress in diff sizes

That's insane and really close to your wedding date especially with your girls out of town. Did they say why they waited to so to call or why there was a problem with the color. I probably would've been arrested
