I just sat down to go over the finals of the wedding.. forgetting how completely beyond over-budget we were (SO worth it though- really!) I counted out everyone who as at our wedding.
Remember that 100 person min. that we paid for? 71 people came to the wedding. Yup, we paid for almost THIRTY PEOPLE who were not there. 14 of those people RSVP'd YES and did not show up. Only 1 of those people warned me 2 days in advance that they were so sorry they could not come. I'm in shock over the balls of these people. I'm actually really hurt by this and am ready to cut people off. This wasn't a BBQ (oh yeah you didn't come to the back form the honeymoon BBQ either that you said you would) this was a Black Tie Event that you committed yourself to.
Sorry, my last RSVP rant I promise. I guess I need the reminder sometimes that not everyone thinks like I do.. not everyone cares and not everyone understands how much time, effort and money goes into planning a Black Tie wedding and how I could have invited other people in their place if they had the decency to RSVP 'NO'.

I agree with you and I think its discusting,unless its a MAJOR emergency and they could at least call you or send an email I think also it takes a lot of balls. I would be ready to cut people off as well. Has anyone contacted you after? You have every right to be upset so don't apologize.

I was one person over my min and paid for that one person and had no shows. UGGGGHHH im mad for paying for that one chair cause its like just giving away money!!! Literally I feel like I gave money to the catering hall. so i can Only IMagine how id be ready to throw down over thirty
Did you at least get some food to take home?? something???

Wow I can't believe that. I would definitely try to find out why they didn't show up or I would just cut them off. At the very least you deserve an apology. Most people know how much weddings costs and how much work goes into it, so it's just rude and inconsiderate to RSVP yes and then not show up.

That's insane that many people didn't show! It's extremely rude! Our venue told us to pay them the day before a small balance in cash just in case we have some people warn us that they could no longer attend.

ANd I added it up.. We spent over $3500 for those 29 people. Albeit half of that was people who said yes and did not show but OUCH.. I thought it was going to be close to $2k .. it was worse OUCH!
Umm.. I ended up contacting people because half the honeymoon it kept taunting me inside so I couldn't wait to come home and ask so I waited 3 days from the time we got home and nothing so I messaged them all. They all had excuses and said they were waiting til I came home to let me know what happened.... they all also said they had my gift out in the mail yet I haven;t received anything form any of them. I don't even want the gifts though.. I wanted THEM. What kills me? The ONE girl who would NOT let up about how bad she wanted to see us get married and asked if anyone needed a date. My husband eventually invited her and I said whatever I guess it's nice someone wants to go so badly- SHE DIDN'T SHOW! ANd I let it go when her RSVP had her AND A DATE (because at the time I was afraid we needed more ppl anyway so I rolled my eyes to it) and she doesn't show. I was and am livid. Apparently, work called her in... SO?!

I literally had the exact same thing happen we paid for one over our minimum and had several no shows (they mostly called the day before or the morning of to tell me ugh) and paying for that one extra makes me so mad still lol.
It does totally suck but in the end u have to just keep telling yourself it was worth it!

Yea people told me they were sending gifts too and nothing. It's just terrible cause I would never do that.
