Wow I feel bad - wedding we were going to got called off

With only 2 weeks to go! No reason just a phone call saying the wedding is off. I mean I guess I understand not explaining why but I am so curious. I feel bad since I attended the shower and the girl was so nice.

You think I should hold on the invite just in case - give it another week or so?

wow...thats crazy. I say wait it out a little bit...you know how stressful the last couple of weeks can get.....sometimes people say things on emotions...I hope it works out

wow! that's so sad! who made the phone call? did they call off the wedding or the marriage?

omg thats crazy...could you imagine it was someone else calling like his ex ?? that would be insane!! but thats just me thinking like that lol

Was it someone legitimate that called? I would want to double check that before you throw out the directions and stuff. Well if it was legitimate I hope everything is ok with them.

My sister in law called she said the moh called her who is the groom's sister. So its deff. off the wedding, i am thinking the marriage as well.

I will keep the invite just in case next week I get a call saying its back on (thinking positively) but then again it could be off for a good thing.

Wow, that is really sad! It happened to a friend of mine, they called off the wedding 3 weeks b4. I think in the long run it is better than to have to get a divorce but it is still very painful.. and having to call all the guests!!!

If they have called their guests and told them, its probably cancelled and not gonna happen..

I had the same thing happen over the summer. 2 weeks before the wedding the MOH called to tell me it was cancelled.. It was horrible and I went to the shower too...

Yeah, that's what i thought also. Same time frame and i couldn't possibly imagine calling this wedding off.

I have to say though, that it's probably for the best. A lot of people take marriage way too lightly and in my opinion, divorce should not even be an option. So the fact that they're calling it off now, means that they probably could see that it wouldn't last and would be wrong to marry. So I'm glad they realized this. Such a shame though. To come this far.

But like somebody said above, maybe it'll work out and they'll still get married. I think those last couple weeks can get really stressful. i know me & FH have argued a bit more this week than we ever had before. There's just a lot going on. But in the end, we just cherish each other so much. There's no way we won't get through it. But i suppose with some people, the nerves can be overwhelming.

This happened with a friend of DH's wedding over the summer too... they called it off a month before. And they had just been at our wedding 2 weeks earlier! This one was DEF for the best though, b/c the girl was cheating and he had cheated on her (more than once) in the past too. Just a bad situation all around, but how they got within a month of their wedding is beyond me! I can't even imagine!
