wow im an idiot ;)

for all these months ive been reading posts, and posting posts..and i noticed that there were alot of girls named TIA asking questions..and im thinking to myself...holy cr*p TIA get it together, how much info does one really need?'
LMAOOOOOOOOOOO i finally just realized it meant 'THANKS IN ADVANCE'

I thought the same thing... but I caught on after a couple of times!

HOWEVER... my MOH and I went to Hawaii and somehow wound up on this messed up road (a total violation of our rental contract) that wound around one of the Islands. It was REALLY scary with a lot of long dark natural tunnels and single lanes. You literally had to pull to the side to allow people to pass when they were coming from the opposite direction - or they would pull aside for you - depending on who was on the side by the CLIFFS that plunged 20 and more feet into ravines and the ocean.

Anyway... we kept seeing these signs that said 'BLOW HORN' they were yellow diamonds and we kept thinking... where IS this place??? I didn't see ANYTHING about it in the travel guides. It was over an hour and over like 10 signs before we were entering a tunnel and heard someone sound their car horn that we REALIZED 'BLOW HORN' meant that we should sound the car horn so that people on the other side of the hairpin turn or tunnel would KNOW that someone was coming. We felt like total morons! We were actually looking for people so we could ask where BLOW HORN was.

oh the same thing happened to me so many times in the beginning-- i'm like what does HTH mean?!! What is that?!!! and I'm like OK I can figure out FSIL but what in the world is STD???? IS IT WHAT I THINK IT IS???? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first saw STD I thought- wow, they talk about everything on this site, not just wedding stuff! Save The Date!

I started getting used to the acronyms. At one point, I was talking to friends about the wedding and speaking in acronyms. 'you know my MOH lives in Boston and my BM's are spread out everywhere!' LOL - At least I know my friends were listening because they started asking me what it meant!

I totally find myself doing this too!!! I realized (after the fact, of course ) that I had written several e-mails to wedding vendors where I referred to my 'FH' or 'MOH'...DUH!!!!! They probably thought I was totally nuts.

hahahha someone actually called me Tia once while responding to a post I had closed with 'TIA'.

don't worry... took me awhile to figure out what TIA meant, too. (although I didn't think it was a person's name).

I thought TIA was a person too in the beginning!!!

SO glad to know I'm not the only one!!!!

Now I use these abbreviations in everyday talk and emails and people look at me like I'm nuts.
