I requested a quote from Raphael Vineyards on the Northfork, and their pricing is soooooo ridiculous! They want $15,000.00 for an october wedding, plus $160.00 per person for food and drinks (only their berr, wine and champagne). I think this is a lil crazy, don't u? Just figured I would let other brides no, just in case u were interested!

It's just the beginning of the sticker shock. It is SO hard to throw a unique wedding in NY. Don't let it get you down!

Thanks. I'm not, we are looking at sooo many places, but it is hard b/c we have such a small guest list. we are between 75-100ppl and everyone wants bigger min ppl. soooo this is the challenge!

you should look at the LIW planning tools ... they tell you how many people you need to have at the diff RHs.
are you inviting 75-100 people, or are you going to have approximately that many in attendance?
ETA: $15k site fee + $160 per person is very much an insane price!

Well right now the guest list is at 75ppl, but FH still has yet to make out his full list..... But I think out of 100ppl, 75 will def show up.

I wrote the event planner an email back and told them that the price was by far way too expensive, especially in a time where ppl r financally struggling, so I will not be able to go there.

Haha. Yup. LOTS of vineyards on LI are extremely expensive. Raphael definitely tops the list! But it is SO beautiful!!! Sigh.

did you try martha clara vineyards? or vineyard caterers?
i also almost died when raphaels emailed me their pricing, it's completely ridiculous!

Do call them! You just may have to change your date to get the price you want. I chose a Friday of a holiday weekend to get a better price, but I have a 100 person min (but I think we can do that!) I am estimating that after tax and service charges it will be something like 12,000. It was also the only place my fiance cared to see, he worked valet for years in Suffolk and knew all the places already!

LOL! Ya i have to talk to them, they r out of our price range....but we r willing to pay extra ONLY b/c they r the best ppl over there and they really make u feel special. And they know what they r doing. So I guess u get what u pay for.

Similar situation and we went with the Three Village Inn. They lowered the min to 75 for us for a Sunday afternoon - 10/10/2010 - for $80 pp
