wrist corsages for bridesmaids

wrist corsages for bridesmaids

One of my bridesmaids just informed me that she would like to inquire about having wrist corsages instead of bridesmaids bouquets. I don't mind the idea, I am pretty open to new/unique wedding ideas. I thought about what they would do with their hands and I remember that the two weddings I've been in, I linked arms with the person I was walking down the aisle with and my other arm just went in front. I was carrying a bouquet but if I had a wrist corsage on, I would not have felt awkward. Does anyone have any opinions about this?

I thought that at first too but then I thought about what you actually do with the bouquet....nothing...just walk down the aisle with it. Ya know? I've seen pics of nice cascading wrist corsages in bridal mags and it looks very elegant....i just hope that they won't be more expensive than getting a bouquet.....hmmmm i'm still undecided.

ITA. in my honest opinion, i don't think it's appropriate for a wedding. for the mothers and grandmother..yes. BM's..no.

I like the idea of doing something different, i was originally looking into the pomander (sp?) balls for my BM's but then i thought of the whole issue of the awkwardness of what to actually do with your hands, because those hang instead of holding in front of you. I know I do alot of fidgeting myself and would prefer to have the regular bo-k so I know what I am suppose to do with my hands

IMO i also agree that corsages are for proms. Venessa brought up a good point about the fact that the MOB & MOG & grandmas get corsages. However it is your day & is ultimetly your decission.

I agree with everyone else. It's way to prom/Sweet 16. I like the idea of the ball.

I will go to a florist and see if he can re-create one of those really nice ones that is saw in the bridal mag. Once i see it in person, maybe I will be able to make a decision on it. I am still undecided but my bridesmaid just made the suggestion so we'll see how it goes. hmm....

Thanks for your input ladies!

I'll be honest...I think you should ignore her : ) I agree with everyone else...corsages are for proms. I also think they are for old people. My Mom wont even get one...she said it's for grandma's. LOL

Re: wrist corsages for bridesmaids

Thanks guys. What other ideas are there for what bridesmaids hold other than kissing balls and bouquets?? I'm open to a newer/unique idea because I am not getting married in a church so that kind of lts me play around with the traditional aspect vs. modern or new ideas.

I've heard of/seen fans, umbrellas, and a candle.
