write or not to write?

HI! Im doing my thank you cards and wanted your opinion. Do i have to write in each card or can I just put a standard thank you?

If they are the pre made ones from the photographer I don't think I usually get them with writing in it.

We did both. We had something printed and I added a little note. We each signed our names.
I think something only pre-printed is very impersonal and lazy.

I was just having this convo with my FH yesterday! My cousin's thank you was just delivered with a pre-written message on it and I thought it was really rude... I think if people are giving you nice gifts, you should take the 2 mins to write out how thankful you are that they could share in your special day. I think having a little pre-written thing is fine, as long as you write a little something of your own

I think it's a nice touch to write something personal. We got a thank you a month or so ago from friends wedding and they had a pre printed photo card but also included a person card that was very thoughtful and sweet.

Write a personal note. Your guests came to your wedding, gave a gift, and celebrated with you and should be personally thanked rather than a standard 'thank you for sharing our day' typed out and generic for everybody.

Thank everyone for you opinions.

Sandra325 think I'm going to do what you suggested. Do something small and then write a personal note.

I couldn't agree more! I think it's EXTREMELY rude when the bride only does a pre-written message.

I would write a personal note. I've actually never seen a pre-printed message, but I feel like I would be insulted if I went to someone's wedding and they sent me a generic thank you.

I totally agree. I am giving hundred of dollars as a gift the least you could do is write a note to me.
