I'm about to start writing my review from our wedding and I'm confused on how to go about reviewing a particular vendor that we were not happy with. I emailed Ron and Liz to see if they wish us to remove the name of the vendor, or to FM them it beforehand, but how is this usually handled?
Thanks!

i agree. If i'm looking into a vendor, i would like to read all reviews (good or bad) so i can fully know what to expect before booking them.

I'm just trying to make sure I do this right. The last thing I want is to have my review pulled because I did something wrong.

Re: Writing Reviews
I would write an honest review, negative or positive. That's the whole point of the review board right? I've seen negative reviews on there before. Not for nothing, the site is useless if people have a crappy experience with a vendor and aren't allowed to warn other brides about it. I understand they don't want people unfairly trashing vendors that pay good money to be on this site but if they aren't upholding their end of the deal, then they shouldn't be protected by Ron and Liz. That's my opinion.

Wow! Well said, I agree. It would be a strange, police-state-like atmosphere here if advertising vendors were protected from bad reviews even if they dont perform up to expectations.

Re: Writing Reviews
They responded that honest reviews are important, that I just need to be careful on how I word the review so that it's not slanderous because they can sue the poster (me) for that.

I agree with chrissynricky. And just remember that slander requires false statements so as long as you stick with the truth and the facts, you'll be fine.

Re: Writing Reviews
why not write the review in word so you can save it in the event any of it is deleted, ****** to death or pulled and you can FM people.
maybe just say 'our photgrapher' instead of 'jim's photography of LI' and then list your vendors in your profile....so someone has to read the review and check your profile for the name? of course, in the review don't say 'we hated this vendor, check my profile for the name.'

I plan on saving it, just because it will probably be a lengthy review overall. I don't wish to hide the name of course, I plan on stating the facts and be done with it. I'm not one to state that I hate anything, or use any kind of personal feelings that I may have towards them because it would be unfair, even though I am unhappy with their service. So, I'll definitely be very concise and fair in my review of them, but state what went wrong.

Re: Writing Reviews
First of all, Congratulations on getting married! Glad you found your B Gene.
Secondly, Sorry you were unhappy with your vendor. I think my review is pretty exemplary of how you can say everything that needs to be said (and probably then some) without it getting pulled.

I wrote a negative review about a LIW vendor (she's no longer a vendor here though). And it wasn't pulled. I think it's all in the way you word it. Just be honest, don't flame the vendor or it will be pulled.
