I was thinking of writing my own vows at the wedding. I want to personalize the ceremony and since we are getting married at the RH we will be able to change the ceremony around and write them ourselves. Is anyone else writing their own vows?

I'm pretty sure we are. We've talked about here and there...still have plenty of time to work on them though, so we haven't put pen to paper just yet.

fh and i strongly considered this...however we think it may get too emotional so we will do the vows normally but in our wedding day cards to each other write our own vows

i am thinking this too....i think the whole process would make me entirely too nervous and emotional
nothing is confirmed yet...but the thought of it does scare me a bit

We are writing our own as per request of my FH. Its gonna be hard and emotional but in the end I think I'll be happy I went through with it

yea i am pretty sure it will get emotional but then again i see brides cry when they are saying the traditional vows too so I would most likely get emotional either way haha. I tried to write a first draft last night and it came out good for a first draft. I just wanted to see if I could actually get some touching thoughts down on paper and not have it like 20 minutes long haha. i think we will write our own vows too. i want it to be completely personalized. woohoo i actually made a decision

We planned to do traditional vows and then say something we wrote....however....the wedding is 10 days away and we haven't written anything yet....we have ideas but seem too busy doing things together to have time to do this separately...so...i'm curious myself if it will end up happening
I find lots of things I want to say are more like poetry and how I feel and not like vows since a vow is suppose to be a promise, it seems kinda tough!!

we aren't because FH is way too shy to talk about his emotions in front of his entire fam and friends. But if you both agree to do it then I think it would be a beautiful thing to do and include in your ceremony.

We plan on writing our own vows. We want to make the ceremony more personal- I just have no idea what to write yet but I have some time to think about it. lol.

I'm pretty sure we're doing this...either we'll write something together that we'll both say or we'll write our own individual vows.
We're customizing our ceremony (interfaith) so I think it'll be nicer that we write our own

We're getting married at the RH too. We are writing our own vows - FH's idea. I like the idea - I just know it maybe a little hard when the time comes. I have yet to put it on paper - I better get a move on it!

Wow I had no idea that so many people are going to write their own vows! That's so cool! I'm excited for that part of the ceremony. I am so happy to have a videographer so we can remember what we say to each other!

Same here, I'm a big cry baby at weddings so I'm sure I'm going to be a wreck on my own wedding day.

FH & I were just talking about this..I want to do it so he will think about it..he's not sure if he will be able to do them in front of everyone but we have a lot of time to decide
