I just read about this website in the recent issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. You can type in your zip code and see the average price of a wedding in your area, as well as average prices for vendors and wedding items. This may help newly engaged brides who are having the same 'sticker-shock' that I had when I first began planning.... 'it costs HOW MUCH???' Or for the OOT family and friends who can't believe how much things cost in New York!

I fell within the average, so I guess that is good. I think this thing is probably right, but keep in mind, for example, a lot of out of state weddings dont have the open bar options that we get, and def not all the food options for cocktail hour that we get. I looked in both NY and Maine for my wedding and I def got a better deal having the wedding here- much less $$ reception wise for what I wanted!!

It gave me a range of over $40,000! Mine said between $21,000 and $64,000.

haha that was fun!! I thought for sure we'd be spending more on LI than FH's area upstate, but the average cost was actually a little more up by him! That surprised me.

the range i got is waay to wide - and some of vendor averages are way off! not quite sure how accurate it is
