Ok- so my MIL tells me that she got a message to call my MOH re: my shower and did I want to have it @ this place or that place- and quoting me prices.
I love her to death but I don't want to know all of this.
I respond.....I donot want a HUGE shower ( why does everything have to be so overdone) and I wouldn't mind doing it up in the Bronx where we had my friends. (beautiful place)
She responds.....well there are so many people here in Queens who would go that don't drive.
I respond......I DONOT want a huge shower! I call my f/h (d/h) and tell him No Huge shower.
He calls her and blasts her for spilling beans.
She calls me and blasts me and I am way too AGGRAVATED because I don't even want all this! Did I say I DON'T WANT A HUGE SHOWER!
ETA- IS IT ME ?!? OR IS EVERYONE DEALING WITH THIS?
Thanks for listening.........can't wait to do seating charts for the wedding in a few months

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this!! People are so strange!! Two of my BMs called ME complaining about how much money they were asked to spend for the shower!! I also said that I don't want a big shower and to talk to my MOH about this....not me!!
Last I checked the brides are not supposed to know about their shower!!! UGH!!!

Just breathe...it will all work out. Maybe you can enlist your MOH to keep your MIL out of the details and do what YOU want!

Keep telling them that you don't want to know anything and you would prefer it to be small and intimate. Unfortunately, it sounds like you're going to have a big shower regardless of how you feel, and that's what can happen when other people do the planning. Do your best to stay out of it and let other people worry over the details. I know everything about my shower and it stinks. I too wanted to be left out of it, but it didn't work out that way.

Trust me.....you will learn its rarely what you want in any part of the wedding process.....you try to apease everyone and everyone takes another step forward. Just state your preference, you probably won't get it, but at least you told them what you want ....

its kinda sad the way its suppose to be for the bride yet alot of times it ends up being the way the people throwing it want, opposite the bride

I have the opposite problem. No one told me nuthin! I know I am having one, but they don't think I know, so I wasn't asked any input, such as guest list or location.
I keep asking FH if he thinks its time for me to get my nails done. . .it sort of a secret code. . .

thanks ladies- I appreciate the sympathy & kind words -when he came home from work we talked and he told me not to worry -it is what it is -I will not know anymore about it. -I think he aldo gave mil a little chat
I still think its going to be a bit over the top but so is this whole wedding
