I ordered my dress in a size 18, but we received a size 16, which my mom and grandma did not realize until a year after they picked it up.
I tried my dress on 2 weeks ago, and it fit.... tried it on today, it wont zip.
any one have any tips or techniques to lose 5-10 pounds before I go for my fittings, or should I look into changing the back of my dress?
Its driving me nuts this fitting not fitting fitting not fitting

Re: WWYD (dress not fitting)
be strict with your diet. weight watchers, cardio .. also every so often wrap urself in plastic wrap(yes im serious) and sweatshirts... and go to bed. sweatttttt as much as u can
fitness models do this..so im not pulling it out of mybutt lolol
honestly 5-10 lbs by january shouldnt be that difficult if you stick to weight watchers.

I would talk to the place you ordered it from and tell them they ordered the wrong size. Then I would talk to them about getting the back changed to corset so that you dont stress till your wedding trying to lose weight.
This would just be my personal response to this situation, i hope it helps!
You still have time before you wedding to lose the weight if you really like the way the back looks though!

Re: WWYD (dress not fitting)
the problem is the dress was discontinued in 2007, so not sure the manufacturer could even send me a new one at this point and I ordered the dress in Florida.
I am hoping it can be changed (though i would really like not to have to change it, as I love the back).
Bahh, 100 days and this lol

Re: WWYD (dress not fitting)
My sister lost a lot of weight walking everyday, no soda or carbonated drinks at all (she only had water and unsweetened tea really), cut out all mayonnaise and mayo based products from your diet ( ex: on sandwiches you could use vinegar there are so many different types, to wet it up a little and put some avocado on your sandwhiches) no chips, no cookies, no cake, try to eat non-dairy ice cream or yogurt for dessert (fage yogurt is really creamy and if you add honey and granola to it, it is quite delicious) and try to keep a positive attitude. it is totally do-able but if you do not hit the 'target' weight remember that the dress is supposed to fit you not the other way around so don't totally stress about it. you will look beautiful whether you lose all the weight you want to lose or if you end up taking the dress out

Using weight watchers is great, walk an hour a day, drink 8 - 10 glasses of water and take in a lot of fiber. Also incorporate high intensity cardio (maybe Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred) and some weight training. Even if its 10lb weights...muscle burns fat. Definitely stay away from high sodium foods, junk snacks and carbonated drinks.

Re: WWYD (dress not fitting)
If you love the dress and want to go the losing weight route I would start now.... back in June I wanted to lose weight before FH and I went to California... completely put it off and then my brother put me on a super strict diet and I lost 15lbs in a month... I can't say I kept it off through out the summer but that is just because I eat like a savage....
This is what I did....WALK EVERYDAY, take the stairs, park as far away from wherever you are going as possible. Turn everything into a workout... I was literally dancing around the apartment rather than walking. I was doing squats while showering!!! LOL!!!! I didn't eat any regular meals. I basically snacked several times every day.
-A banana -Berries, blueberries/strawberries/blackberry -a hard boiled egg -NO FAT vanilla yogurt with granola -tuna with balsamic(no mayo) and celery -small pieces of grilled chicken marinated in balsamic vinegar and pepper with fresh spinach in a wrap -fat free no salt or butter popcorn -grapefruit -water or tea with no sugar or milk
There is a bunch of other stuff but you get the idea... I wouldn't recommend eating like this forever and the second you stop eating like this you put it back on.

Re: WWYD (dress not fitting)
try tracking your fittings and see when they fell during your menstrual cycle.
you could possibly be retaining water depending on when it is in your cycle.
try taking a diuretic, water pill to help you drop the water weight before your fitting. it could be that simple! other wise, you'd be surprised how easy it is to drop 5-10lbs by just walking and cutting out the thing you eat most in your diet. i cut out bread- my weakness- and lost some lbs pretty easily.
good luck and try not to stress it, you will look beautiful!! seriously try the water pill!!!!

You can do it! Exercise everyday even if it's just a walk! Diet, for 100 days cut out white bread/pastas and refined sugar in snacks and drinks and you'll lose it in no time!

You can do it! Just follow a strict diet and incorporate some exercise into ur regime....
I dont think id start altering the dress - that could be costly and end up a disaster!

You can do it!! I lost over 10 lbs easily with WW in 3 months. You just have to be supermotivated and stick with it. If you belong to a gym, get there and get in some cardio. If not, go for walks or runs 4-5 times a week.
