Wyndham Wind Watch Hotel in Hauppauge

Anyone having problems with guest reservations? My guests and I are receiving mixed messages when attempting to book rooms. Over the weekend my mother was told the reserved block was sold out (not true) and the BM was told that only one night of the two he was trying to book fell under the group rate (also not true).

FH called they said we had 3 rooms left. I called and they said there were 5 rooms left. What a pain! Anyone else experience this with Wyndham Wind Watch?

I haven't experienced any of those problems...and to my knowledge, neither have any of my guests.

I would try to find a manager and deal directly with them - try to get everything sorted and be sure your contract is honored.

I was actually getting married at Wyndham Wind Watch. I got out of my contract this past Wednesday, and got really lucky because Villa Lombardi's had a cancellation. So I re-booked my wedding with Villa. If you do a serach you will see several posts with my complaints about Wyndham Wind Watch.
Your getting mixed messages because the hotel has been SOLD. They do not know what is happening with the hotel....what kind of hotel it will be, when it will happen, staff, etc.

Good luck!!!

I didn't have a block of rooms there but stayed there the night of my wedding...The only problem I had with them was they had me double booked and charged me for a no show on one of the rooms. I called to complain and the mgr said unless I have a cancelation number I can't be refunded..I told her I didn't make 2 reservations your office did. Well I called American Express and it was taken care of.

wow, you totally lucked out!

i have yet to hear from the woman i had been dealing with, she has been great so far but seems to be MIA this morning...

i would have more concerns if i was getting maried there, but hotel changes like this supposedly happen all the time and i guess we just have to go with the flow and keep on top of things... ug!

Re: Wyndham Wind Watch Hotel in Hauppauge

My guests aren't staying at the Wyndham, but I just had some similar confusion with my hotel, and it may be part of what's going on with you.

I blocked my rooms for Friday and Sat night. Apparently, a lot of people had only booked the sat night room. So, let's say I have a block of 20 rooms. For Sat night, 20 people had already booked a room. But for Friday night, only 15 people had booked the room.

To the hotel front desk, it looks like in total, there are rooms left open in the block, but if someone tried to get a room, they will be told that there are only rooms available at the discounted rate for Friday, not Sat.

This all got fixed for me. Apparently the group manager that I deal with has better access to the blocks than the front desk. All that they have to do is give you more rooms in your block.

This may explain why you're getting different available room #'s from them.

Good luck! They'll figure it out...

I had that same exact problem this weekend. One of my guests tried to make a reservation and was told all the rooms in our block were booked. Then I called the hotel and was told that they are not.

I was told that there is 'central reservations', which is the 1-800#, and then there are regular reservations, which are made by calling the hotel directly. Sometimes Central Reservations doesn't know that more rooms are available.

If you call your contact at the Wyndham, they should be able to straighten it out, and let Central Reservations know that you have more rooms available. I just spoke to my contact, and she was actually really helpful.
