x-post 2010- NWR; i need better book suggestions

I'm currently reading the dark hunter series.. and its okay.
I just bought book 3 (or 4 depending on how you look at it) and I'm thinking of returning it and trying another series... its just not what I want.

I LOVED the demonica and black dagger brotherhood series. I love the whole forbidden love, crazy sex, supernatural powers, just exotic way about those two series...
this one is just a little too... we met, we had sex, i think i love him, he's hiding something, we fight evil really easily, i figured out what hes hiding, after a month together we're married, i'm pregnant, the end. I just don't like that.

I do like that its mostly greek mythology, but it mixes other gods and just gets confusing.

so I need a new series.
um.. I hate Fae creatures. not big into weres. I prefer vamps and immortals. need a good story line. i want x rated.

I read 'the missing' as my 'in between' book.. i liked it in the fact that I finished it in under 2 days.. I kinda liked the story... but I didn't like the 'non fictional/super natural' characters.. besides the fact that she's psychic- BORING.

so, any other suggestions?

You might like Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I loved it.

Also, try Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series. She also has a 'dreamfever' series which I didn't really like. Dreamfever deals with the Fae stuff - the Highlander series does not.

what about the Sookie Stackhouse Series, by Charlaine Harris? Those are the books that True Blood are based on. Very racy and fun to read!!!!!!

Not sure if you are into the whole Tudor Era, these books aren't technically a series but I love all books by Phillipa Gregory. I am in love! The Other Boelyn Girl among others are soooo good.

Also, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Ken Follet are 2 of the best books I have ever read!!!

ETA: The True Blood books do have weres in them so not sure if you would love that... also the other books I recommended don't have anything to do with mystical creatures, they are just great books! Sorry if I am no help!

No Pillars isn't about time travel, it's hard to explain it's a historical novel, it takes place in the twelfth century and is about the building of a cathedral in a town in England... it's soooo sexy and follows several story lines of people in the town that are affected by the building of this cathedral, some of it is politics with the church.. ahh it's so hard to explain but it's AMAZING!
