I have just received a NDA from a company and am unsure if we should use a generic one or theirs. I don't know if their NDA is skewed to protect them more than us or are they generally protecting both parties equally.
Is their anyone that could help?

Re: x-post any attorneys able to help me with an NDA?
I Wikipedia'd NDA and from what it says, it didn't help me to answer your question lol From what I understand it is for both parties to agree on, so if you don't agree with what they have can't you say something?

It is for both parties but sometimes the jargon confuses me... I just don't want it to protect them more than us since we are the ones who want to protect our idea

If you're protecting your idea, then why did they send you the NDA? You don't have your own?
(maybe I'm missing something sorry) I'm not an attorney but used to work for a boutique investment firm that deal with intellectual property, trademarks, etc. When we were soliciting investors on deals, we'd send them the NDA, not the other way around...

they said we could use theirs or own own. My attorney(and my very good friend) is in greece until the end of the month. So now I am nervous because I don't know if I should just go and hire another attorney for now.

Tough one...i know we had our own standard NDA that we sent out....do you have one from a previous solicitation that you can reuse?
