The subject line pretty much says it all. I have my first cake appointment roday. Also, if you booked a baker, how many did you look at?

Re: x-post: Bakery appointments - what to ask?
I didn't book a bakery, but did upgrade our cake. We asked to see their designs, but had a few in mind. Turns out we LOVED one of their photos so we said that we wanted that exact one, with a few minor changes. Then we asked about cake and filling flavors. That was pretty much it! HTH!

We went with the suggested bakery - Black Forest (so glad we did!). When we met with Christina, the baker/designer, we basically sat down and I showed her a picture of what we were looking for for the wedding cake and for DH's Groom's Cake. Since we were getting the cake through our venue, we had a set price to spend. The only thing extra we needed to pay for were the fresh sunflowers on the cake - which wasn't much extra.
After we discussed cake design and pricing, she went in the back and brought out a small piece of the cake and freshly made filling for us to try (the wedding cake). She was also nice enough to send us home with 2 generous pieces of Red Velvet cake (which was what the Groom's Cake was).
There was another suggested bakery but we were pretty much sold on BFB so we booked with them.
