so I didn't think I wanted any live musicians for the ceremony I would just have the organist the church provides and now I am doubting this.
My sister had a string quartet, so did my cousin so I don't want that. I was thinking of a harpist or possibly just a violinist solo.
Price is a big concern I have no idea what this will go for anyone with info I would really appreciate it. Feel free to FM if you feel more comfortable.
Thanks

Re: X Post: Ceremony music
I would ask your DJ or Band (whichever you booked for the wedding, if you booked yet). They probably would provide live music for the ceremony. We're using a DJ, but we're having a pianist for the cocktail hour, so I know DJ's can provide live musicians. We're paying $500 for the hour, but looking back I think that's too much!

Re: X Post: Ceremony music
I think harpists are like $900 because their instrument is so damn big. 1 violin is prob like $200-300.
It's what I'm gonna do! (minus the live instrument)
$900 EFF that!!!!! LOL
That sounds beautiful!! I have to do research on this and find out what I like and what the church will allow to play too...
Thanks for the info Date Twin! We could be ceremony music date twins too! LOL

we used a string quartet and though we got a good price because we know her, the normal price is between 600 and 700. THey were AMAZING! I would happily pay that for a string quartet over 900 for a harpist, but thats just me! HTH!

For our ceremony, we have a keyboard and flute. Then the keyboardist will play the piano during cocktail hour.

agreed!! I didn't know what a harpist went for so that is NOT happening.
