X-post from 11: Shower gifts mailed to the house

For those of you that had your shower...or haven't yet...if any gifts came to your house are you lugging them to your shower to be opened with everything else? Or just leaving them home?

My mom thinks everything that gets mailed to me (which everything should have been sent to her to begin with...but people didn't pay attention to the registry address) should go to her house so everything is together. FMIL sent us a huge box today that may be our bedding....and my mom is like it should be here otherwise there won't be a present from her at the shower. Can't I just mention people who mailed gifts to the house?

What did you ladies do?

IMO if the person is going to be at your shower than yes. I would bring it just so they can see you open it.

If they are unable to attend your shower than i dont think you have to lug it around.

I think it's bedding and from FMIL who will be there. I think FH is going to ask her if she wants us to bring it there or not

this is what i did... i know it might take a bit more effort to get these items to your shower, but... it's really thoughtful that the person got something you wanted from your registry (i see posts all the time about people getting upset that guests didn't get them something from their registry), and also it's so nice of the person to attend. i know if i attended a shower, i would really hope to see my gift there and be there when the bride opens it. :)
