X-post from BHB -- Audrey's Bakery

My DOC recommended Audrey's for the grooms cake and they came in with the lowest quote I got and are doing everything I wanted. But I have never had experience with them, so I was wondering..........

How was the cake?

What kind of Cake (wedding or grooms)?

What flavors did you get?

And any other info you think I should know!!

Thanks Girls!!!!

My wedding cake and grooms cake are from Audrey's. From what we had at the tasting, it was delicious. The grooms cake is a 3d Yankee jersey. I bought FH Yankee tickets and emailed them the pics of them. They are going to draw them into the pocket of the jersey. I did white fondant tuxedo cake with raspberry and chocolate buttercream filling. Our wedding cake is the same but with chocolate fondant. They are delivering to the RD location. So far they have been great to deal with and have wonderful ideas!

Audreys cake is so good. Since booking my RH I have been using them a ton and I am never disappointed. They did my E-Party cake and did exactly what I wanted, see my album. It was so pretty, a double heart cake with roses. They also did my shower cupcakes and I have gotten numerous birthday cakes/occasion cakes from them over the last year. They are my new place for cakes. I didn't get a grooms cake because of funds, lack of job meant I couldn't spend the money on it, but they are doing my wedding cake.

We did tasting cakes, if you call they will make you a tasting cake for about $14, feeds like 8 people generously. The problem is its like an actual cake, so you can only pick two filings for it. I had them make me three all in all. Personally I liked Coeur la Creme and Raspberry Mousse... but we are getting raspberry fruit filling and chocolate mousse, which is a great combo and everyone in our families liked that combo. Our e-party cake was half raspberry fruit and half chocolate fudge and was yummy. I also tried the hazelnut filling which is a little nutty for me and the strawberry mousse which was good. At Lands End's showcase I tried the chocolate cake with cannoli filling which is what I would have gotten for the grooms cake had I been able to do one.

My only complaint with them was that the blue icing on my shower cupcakes was turning peoples tongues, faces, clothes and a next day surprise blue... but that was the deepness of the icing and could have happened anywhere. See my shower pics, you will see how dark they were.
